Clinical & non-clinical internships · 2026–2027
Learn by being
part of the work.
Build practical clinical, advocacy, outreach, research, fundraising, and operations skills while contributing meaningfully to survivor-centered services.
Real experience. Real support.
Practice with purpose.
The vibes Internship Program offers both clinical and non-clinical pathways. Clinical interns build supervised direct-service skills supporting people impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Non-clinical interns strengthen the prevention, outreach, research, fundraising, communications, accounting, executive-administration, program-administration, data, human-resources, and cross-functional work that sustains our mission.

Clinical or non-clinical.
Both move the mission.

What you will learn
From first contact
to warm handoff.
Clinical interns develop direct-service skills across advocacy, trauma-informed support, systems navigation, and the everyday practices that help people feel respected and supported. Non-clinical interns develop focused experience through the pathway above.
Assessment & safety
Conduct supervised Purple Line Assessments, understand presenting concerns, identify urgent risks, and define a clear next step.
Trauma-informed support
Practice active listening, grounding, emotional regulation support, boundaries, and non-judgmental communication.
Advocacy & navigation
Support Orders of Protection, court navigation, Domestic Incident Report outreach, and connection to community resources.
Clinical exposure
For SW/MHC students: observe crisis sessions and assessments, participate in case discussions, and learn the 3-8 session CCC model.
Groups & workshops
Observe, support, and co-facilitate groups while learning group dynamics, emotional safety, and participant engagement.
Documentation & teamwork
Develop clear case notes, confidentiality practices, professional communication, and reliable participation in daily operations.
The commitment
Consistency creates
the learning.
This minimum applies to both clinical and non-clinical interns. Interns must maintain a consistent schedule for at least four months and be available at least two days per week. Standard shifts are seven hours and include a 30-minute break. Clinical placements may also be aligned with academic requirements.
The full picture
Client care includes
the everyday details.
Across both pathways, interns may support prevention and outreach, reception, the food pantry, research and policy, fundraising, communications, accounting support, executive administration, data and reporting, program administration, human resources, community-resource mapping, cross-functional organizational support, and special projects. Every role is approached with dignity, confidentiality, and care.
Supervision & support
You are not expected
to know everything.
All interns receive at least one hour of supervision each week, alongside ongoing feedback, learning reflection, and access to leadership for guidance. Clinical supervision is aligned with academic requirements for social work and mental health counseling students.
“Show up, stay engaged, ask questions, and grow.”
